Our research group is interested in developing a fundamental understanding of complex multiscale multiphysics fluid systems. Research activities conducted at UT integrate advanced flow physics modeling with high-performance computing and applied mathematical tools. We work on a wide range of projects including error estimation for large-eddy simulations (LES), turbulent spray combustion, high-speed combustion in scramjets, nanoparticle synthesis, LES-based novel combustion modeling techniques, soot formation in aircraft engines, and numerical methods for multiphase flows.

We are always looking to recruit outstanding graduate research assistants. Students with strong background in fluid physics and computational methods are encouraged to apply.
